Role of Exercise Physiologist and Cardiovascular Training
The Role of EP and Cardiorespiratory Fitness training in neurological population
Presenter: Marlou Tacugue, Exercise Physiology Team Leader
Understanding the concept and role of cardio-respiratory fitness training and the importance of addressing this sooner rather than later is essential for maximising functional performance and outcomes. Aerobic exercise in neurological populations has been shown to prime and help facilitate improvements in motor re-learning and gait re-training activities. Here we will teach you how to prescribe aerobic exercise correctly at the right intensity and dosage to maximise the effects of neuroplasticity.
Key Learning Objectives:
- Understand the role of an exercise physiologist and cardiorespiratory fitness training
- Appreciate how to maximise functional performance and outcomes with aerobic exercise and neuroplasticity
- Identify how to prescribe aerobic exercise correctly at the right intensity and dosage
