Functional Movement and Falls Foundations Training
Masterclass
Strengthen function, train for falls and build confidence in this 8-week online Masterclass.
Functional Movement and Falls Training Foundations Masterclass
This masterclass equips clinicians with practical, evidence-informed skills to assess falls and use movement skills and falls treatment to design effective individualised programs for older adults and neurological populations.
It goes beyond falls prevention and focuses on falls treatment, which combines both function-based prevention strategies and teaches the methodology of proper falls training. Participants will learn how to teach clients to carry momentum, protect major risk areas and dissipate force to reduce fracture risk in the event of a fall.
Through a structured clinical learning pathway – from fall analysis to targeted intervention -participants will refine their capacity to both reduce falls risk and improve patient safety when falls do occur.
Developed in collaboration with NeuroFit Academy, this Masterclass combines ARCademy’s commitment to high-quality clinical education with Naomi Casiro’s specialist expertise in functional movement and falls training. Delivered exclusively by Naomi, it provides a focused, end-to-end clinical framework designed for immediate application.
Our Masterclasses give you the
opportunity to learn directly from experienced clinicians and experts, at your own pace.
About Naomi Casiro, Physiotherapist & Founder, NeuroFit BC & NeuroFit Academy
Naomi Casiro is a Canadian-trained physiotherapist and founder of NeuroFit BC, a specialist physiotherapy practice with clinics in Vancouver and Victoria dedicated exclusively to people living with Parkinson’s. She has completed advanced postgraduate training in the Bobath Concept (Basic and Advanced levels), has undertaken PWR! training, and completed ATTP training. Naomi has presented on Parkinson’s and exercise at both regional and national conferences, with a clinical focus on functional movement, gait and falls training in neurological populations. Before qualifying as a physiotherapist, Naomi practised as a kinesiologist and personal trainer — experience that continues to inform her integrated approach to neurological rehabilitation. Her work bridges structured rehabilitation and high-quality exercise delivery, supporting people with Parkinson’s to move with greater confidence, control and resilience. Naomi currently treats clients both in-clinic and online, teaches group classes and professional seminars, and serves as an adjunct professor within the Physiotherapy program at the University of British Columbia. Her clinical approach emphasises empowering individuals to not only reduce falls risk, but to build the skills and confidence to respond safely when falls occur.

The Functional Movement and Falls Foundations Masterclass blends theory with highly applicable clinical strategies and demonstrations to build confidence in identifying movement challenges and translating assessment into effective, person-centred intervention plans. Designed for immediate clinical application, this course bridges movement assessment, intervention and real-world patient challenges.
By the end of this masterclass, you will be able to:
- Explain key determinants of functional movement efficiency and how deficits contribute to falls risk
- Apply evidence-based tools to assess movement patterns associated with instability and reduced mobility
- Identify modifiable risk factors across strength, balance, posture and gait that influence falls outcomes
- Design and justify targeted interventions that address identified movement impairments
- Apply principles of falls training, including strategies to teach safe falling and recovery techniques
- Integrate clinical reasoning frameworks that support safer discharge planning and community mobility
- Communicate functional movement findings effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams
This masterclass is ideally suited to:
- Physiotherapists working across community, hospital, outpatient and rehabilitation settings.
- Exercise Physiologists delivering therapeutic exercise and balance programs.
- Occupational Therapists focused on mobility, ADLs and home safety.
- Allied health professionals and experienced exercise/healthcare professionals delivering safe movement programs to older adults or neurological populations.
You will walk away with:
- A structured decision-making framework for movement and falls assessment.
- Practical clinical tools and screening checklists ready for immediate use.
- Intervention strategies tailored to common movement deficits seen in older adults.
- Practical strategies to introduce falls training, including safe falling and recovery techniques.
- Enhanced confidence in linking functional assessments to intervention targets.
- A nuanced understanding of the relationships between balance, gait, strength and falls risk.
