June Challenge Questions
Challenge Question:
When faced with clients with moderate mobility post stroke and brain injury it can be challenging to predict whether running goals may be realistic. On completion of these modules consider either a client you have known or set yourself the scene of a hypothetical client such as the one below and then write yourself a plan of what factors you would want to determine in an assessment for scope towards running and list 5 potential exercises that would proactively target a return to running focus.Example Client:
55 year old male who prior to sustaining his right sided stroke 9 months ago was an active individual who participated in short distance triathlons and has goals of being able to return to running short distances with a 3km run as his first target. He is currently mobile without aids on flat surfaces however is very slow and cautious on slopes and has a step to pattern for stairs. He cannot hop on his affected leg however can perform a small double foot jump and retain balance favouring his stronger leg.
